| Family of 4. Were all tall! Kids are still in car seats but they are going to be tall. Both parents super tall. Need bucket seats and 3 rows. Will fairly often have an adult in 3rd row. Travel to beach a lot so need good trunk space. Looking at the following: VW atlas, Tahoe and Yukon Denali. I want bells and whistles on this car and will have it for 7+ years. Obviously we prefer the lowest price car but putting that aside, which would you pick? Thanks! |
| It’s called a minivan. |
| Suburban |
are you going to say this to every person who asks about a third row? |
No but if you want a comfortable ride for a tall family a minivan is the best choice. |
| Not a VW |

Minivan great
Highlander works for us and son, 6’5”, fine in second row. . |
Sorry you can’t handle the truth. |

We have a tall family and we go to the beach a lot and we drive a car.
Yeah my teens bitch about it but tough - it is sort of a first world problem. No family of 4 needs a Yukon or any other massive SUV. At least pretend this is about what you need instead of being cool or beating your chest and get a mini-van and try to spare the planet a little more abuse. |
Was just thinking this, PP- lol!! |
+1. This is what we have for our tall family. And this checks all your boxes. Get the Premier line. Ugh, and to the PP who was proud of the fact that their kids are uncomfortable in the car you chose, including during long trips to the beach: you and the OP have different priorities. Your judgey comment wasn’t necessary. |
| Mercedes GL |
No. My 9 year old was in my third row yesterday, and his feet were touching the ground. It would not be comfortable for an adult. I think suburban Tahoe is the way to go for tall people. Don’t know what kind of shake it will be in 7 years though. |

My Cousin is 6'6". His son 6'8".
They have found time and again the Chevy Suburban is their answer. If your kids are still in car seats - you have a lot of flexibility - but the Atlas is definitely NOT your answer - and neither is the Highlander. If you are mostly in need of a car for 5, you might consider a full size as opposed to full size + SUV and invest in a rooftop box that can flex to whatever vehicle you have in the future. |

Midsize - new Traverse.
But yeah I think suburban is your friend here. |
