Anyone have an inflatable pool?

How are you keeping the water clean? Mine holds 300 gallons, and I don’t want to drain and refill too much. Anyone buy chlorine tabs or something to ensure it’s safe for kids?

We have one and just drained it last night. It didn’t last for two days before it was looking murky but I think it also could’ve been from whatever was on my kids feet from the yard. We’ve ordered a cover and some of the Clorox tablets for small pools/spas so we’ll refill when it arrives. I’ve also used regular Clorox bleach in our smaller wading pools in past years after I read it on their website.

My husband bought us one and is getting some sort of filter attachment.

800 gallon inflatable pool. We turned it into a salt water pool with a sand filter

How old are the kids that enjoy this? Seems like they’d have to be tiny. Our pool is opening anyway ( as will others).

I have an about 10’ x 6’ inflatable pool for my 4 and almost 1 year olds. I skim off all the leaves and bugs nightly and drop in some liquid bleach in water solution - 3/8 cup of bleach in 2 gallons of water. Mix it all up and then cover it with a tarp for the night. The next day I mix it up again after removing the cover, and top off the water as necessary. My water doesn’t get too dirty or sandy, but we set up the pool next to the stone patio and my 4 year old tends to only get in and out from the patio so I think that helps.

I just filled the pool for the first time this season today, but in the past I’ve been able to get a few days of good usage out of the water this way before I have to drain the whole thing and start over.

We left it for a week and it was pretty gross by the end, even with a net to scoop, a cover, and chlorine tablets. I'm looking into some kind of filter but that feels like overkill for a $40 inflatable.

These pools are so gross. Like a big family bathtub.

But they are one heck of a lot of fun if you're a kid. Someone down the street has one on their front lawn. The screams of delight coming from their kids are making my heart sing!

I’m trying to figure out logistically how you drain an 800 gallon pool in the backyard in close-In burbs. Don’t think the neighbors would be thrilled

Run a hose to the sewer in the street.

We're in NW DC, in a SFH neighborhood. I think some people just dump it in the alley behind their homes.
