I think a lot about which incoming Virginia AG will stand up to the federal government to protect Virginians. I don't think Miyares would sue if a similar case happened to Virginia.

Nineteen states sued the federal government to try to stop the Trump administration's mass firings of federal employees. Miyares did not join in, despite the large number of federal employees in Virginia.

What happens if National Guard members are deployed to Virginia against the governor's wishes? If there's a federal abortion ban? If the Trump administration attempts to assert control over the the state's colleges or takes funding away from them? If there are federal attempts to change our state elections?

I want an AG who will protect Virginia, not one who will stay quiet as a federal government tromps over states rights.

These aren't normal times. Our voting needs to reflect that.

Thank you this is the only response anyone with brain cells who is a true American will vote this way

+1

How is this a question?

Breaking - Miyares attempted to manipulate the election by amplifying the claims of a right wing lunatic -

From the lawyers "investigating."

However, as discussed below, it appears that Governor Youngkin’s and Virginia Attorney
General Jason Miyares’s Offices may have known of these allegations for a year or more before
the Governor referred them to the State Police for investigation. The apparent reasons for why
Attorney General Miyares, and possibly also Governor Youngkin, may have known of these
allegations long before they were widely publicized and before they were known to FCPS senior
Division leadership or the public are addressed below.

If you go to the document and scroll way down, there is a copy of a tweet from Elicia Brand that Miyares knew.

Not sure that is enough to say he knew.

Very well put.

The right wingers are claiming he knew. That’s pretty persuasive.

Going to spam every thread with this?

Yes, everyone seriously contemplating voting for Miyares based on “morality” deserves to know the shady, immoral crap he is up to. Maybe you don’t care that he is abusing trans kids for political points, but teen moms and innocent educators too?

But they are liars when you don't agree with them?

I also have never read so many weasel words in my life.

Republicans are lying, corrupt POSs who will do or say anything to win elections.

Miyares is a terrible option whether he knew or not.

Apart from that, it bothers me that he went ahead and pursued the nomination knowing that this would get dug up at some point before the election. He could and should have stepped aside to allow another Democratic candidate like Shannon Taylor to run against Miyares.

Spanberger still has my vote, but I can't vote for Hashmi knowing that she's a big proponent of a casino in Tysons, and now I can't vote for Jones either. WHY CAN'T THE DEMOCRATS FIELD BETTER CANDIDATES?!?

What an amateur. I routinely do 130 in my Audi from Bakersfield to Vegas.

Fahrvergnügen!

🚨MORE SCANDAL

A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate Jay Jones’ attempt to scheme his way out of accountability for his reckless driving charge.

Jay reported that he did 500 hours of community service for his own political action committee, and has REFUSED to say what that “service” was.

How can voters trust someone to be Attorney General if he’s under active investigation for making a mockery of the justice system he wants to lead?

Republicans are truly the weakest, most snowflake Americans. They fear free speech and are terrified of cities. God, they need such coddling.

Free speech does not include calling for the assassination of your political opponent and his children.

It's free speech. It's not free from consequences. I wonder if Jones understands the difference.

This is such a bizarre take. Who’s afraid of cities? I wish most weren’t so dirty and gridlocked, but there’s nothing to fear there.

Republicans are afraid of cities. They are always in hysterics about crime! and war zones!

TIED UP IT WIL BE DOWN TO THE HIRE, IMO
Jones wins this by 1.0 IF ABBY WINS by +10 or more

They want to decrease crime. Every city has at least one area that experiences disproportionate levels of crime. Do you dispute that? Calling them “war zones” is hyperbolic, but it resonates apparently.

The Republicans are afraid of cities battle cry sounds juvenile and ignorant.
