Washington International School's college matriculation rivals STA/NCS... why no attention?

Never see WIS discussed but it appears to be just as competent at sending kids to the Ivies as STA/NCS, Sidwell, and GDS. So why do we pretend it doesn't exist?

Who said it doesn't exist? Their parents simply don't like to come into this forum and brag about it. Anyone who knows the area knows it is a terrific school.

What is the average class size at WIS? From 2016 to 2019, 38 WIS students went to Ivy or equivalents.

On average, 25 STA students each year go to Ivies or equivalents.

WIS families aren't into grandstanding on anonymous public forums.

Is acceptance into WIS as competitive and selective as STA/SFS/NCS? That would be awesome if it were a little easier/under the radar...

WIS in undertaking a major renovation and expansion of its Tregaron campus in Cleveland Park. It will provide needed and quite stunning science, dining and other facilities.

Had the same thought. Someone at WIS worried about June 1?

...and if your goals were as shallow as making matriculation to Ivy League Colleges a priority. Folks this is so passé....

That doesn’t make any sense, but I don’t get how anyone would know these not-publicized-to-the-outside numbers for two high schools and just for Ivy League schools, let alone for “equivalents,” as determined and tallied by this person.

Both schools publish a matriculation list.

WIS parents are smart.

Smart parents don't obsess over DCUM gossip.
