I’m curious about how those parents who lost childcare due to schools and daycares shutting are coping in week 2. Have any of you hired childcare in the short term? If so, how did you find it? Any schedules where you are splitting up care with your partner working out well? |
We’re schedule splitting and I get up at 3:30 AM while DH late into the night. The TV goes on when we both have conference calls. It’s hard. Really, really hard. We laugh about the possible COVID baby boom in nine months since we’re barely in bed at the same time.
No on the sitter. That would just bring one more exposure and everyone she is exposed to into the house. Not wise. |

I know this isn't a popular course of action based on some other threads, but we hired one of my son's preschool teachers to help us out. I know it brings in additional exposure, but it helps us get work done. And, it helps her as she isn't getting paid by the school during this time (unfortunately). Just putting another approach out there. |
