Wondering if this even matters unless all, or at least top schools extend as well.

Consider a kid got into T20 with 5-1 deadline and one on this list.

1. To choose T20 school, Student Still has to make decision by may1; or put another way, if $ is not deposited by May1then decision is intimately made for them (i.e., student won’t be attending that T20).

2. Student could deposit at T20 on May 1, then later rescind and deposit at June 1 school.

If another kid is pulled off waitlist at May 1 school, they get notified in May in first scenario or in June in 2nd scenario.

You can add Lewis and Clark (not sure if you east coast peeps care about L&C).

I don't really understand the attention on this list right now. Aren't there more pressing issues? Decisions aren't even out at many schools. It's safe to say deadlines for colleges WILL be pushed back, even if they aren't on this list. The tours are cancelled, the open houses IF they happen, will be later in the year.

Vilanova and NYU have not even told regular admissions yet if they got in. Demanding a 5-1 turnaround considering no chance to tour school and very expensive four year commitment mom and dad is a bit pushy

And then can you imagine classes don't start on campus in the fall and you are spending $35,000 for a semester of on-line classes????

I don’t see colleges giving a discount. Those who do tvghink it’s worth it need to start looking at their less expensive options. This may be tough decision fir done, but people refuse to pay high cost of private school tuition even in non-pandemic times.

It's not like the schools will be open in May to take tours - it seems silly.

Most students don't make multiple visits to colleges before making their decision. It's seen as a must for people of means, but not necessary. It's nice to take a victory lap, but you already won the race if you got admitted.

I could see them discounting room and board. My kids college prorated this semester’s R&B after the recent closures.

A top 40 private.

These schools offer a good experience for the student, but none of the schools are *that* competitive. They can wait. They are smart to wait, best to extend as long as possible. They'll get more students that way.
