Hello Jeff,
I posted in the evening of March 10th explanations entitled "Covid-19 Virology 411" and "Covid-19 Virology 411, continued", on the MCPS Coronavirus thread. It took me a long time to write them. They are the opinions of various scientists and doctors (mine and others), including virologists and infectious disease specialists. It is important to keep them up so that people can refer to them and understand that children are asymptomatic carriers of the novel coronavirus, and that schools need to be closed because they significantly contribute to rapid viral spread and endanger our elderly and higher-risk groups. Please restore my posts. Thank you. |

First of all, it is impossible to restore posts. Once they are deleted, they are gone. Second, the reason that they were deleted is that the posts did not pertain to MCPS. We have plenty of general COVID-19 threads. The MCPS C19 thread is supposed to be about MCPS and C19, not C19 generally. Otherwise, we wouldn't need a specific MCPS thread.

Very disappointing then. The discussion started with an argument over whether to close MCPS, which did pertain to the forum, and I decided to explain the reasoning further while discussing with the same poster. Other posters appreciated the information. This is exactly the type of posts you SHOULD keep on the thread. You cannot reasonably expect a thread on coronavirus in MCPS schools to be utterly free of actual scientific information, and you must accept that there will be an overlap in the information provided between all coronavirus threads. People tend to read what's happening in their little world, and do not necessarily change forums to read an enormous thread on a related subject elsewhere, so scientists who wish to combat fake news and educate people on all fronts must cross post to some extent. |
