Do you think 80s home decor will ever come back in style?

Everything old is new again. Mid-century is big right now - do you think 80s home decor will ever make a resurgance? We all thought the clothing would never return... but we were wrong.

Will this stuff ever come back in style?

If it does, it will change just enough to be different.

But in what ways do you think it'll change enough to be stylish again?

+1 that stuff is awful.

I think the blushes and patterns are already back.

If I knew what other parts of the eighties would come back in style, I would me massively impressed with myself.

There's only a few small shifts between that first picture and The Wing.

I would totally do picture 4, only without the fake plant and different bar stools.

First three remind me of the Golden Girls. The fourth Facts of Life - when they sell cheap tacky crap at Over Our Heads.

That stuff all looks so Florida condo to me. When I think of 1980s decor, I think of Queen Anne furniture; cranberry, navy and hunter green color schemes; plaid upholstery; and cherry cabinetry, all mixed up with Laura Ashley-type florals and ruffles, balloon valances, and rustic motifs like farm animals and folk art prints. Basically anything that evoked early America but could be purchased at the local mid-level furniture store.

Yes! And i do expect, for better or for worse, that the preppy color palette (navy, hunter green, cranberry, plaids) and the Laura Ashley feminine floral will both make a comeback. We cant take gray walls and white subway tile for much longer.
