When should I send out an invitation for late March birthday parties?

Anonymous
I'm hosting 2 parties at the end of March. In our circles, this is a very popular birthday month. We used to literally get invited to 2-3 parties PER weekend in March. Both my kids were born in the same week so I host 2 parties. They both have close friends born in the same week. every year, we have at least 1 party the same day of our parties. I tend to send invitations on the earlier side (4-6 weeks) and every year a friend or classmate responds immediately that their party is on the same day. I've had parents change their party date because I sent mine out first.

Sorry for being long winded.

When would you send the invitation out for a party March 21 weekend?

It it's that busy, a month in advance. we got an invitation for a late Feb. bday almost 2 weeks ago.

If your kids have close friends born in the same week, why don’t you talk to the parents and settle on dates so there’s no conflict on party scheduling. It’s really obnoxious to send out invitations super early just so you get the jump on the date, especially when you know the ppl and could easily work this out ahead of time.

I already changed a party date so that DS's best friend can make it. I also checked with my other child's two closest friends for a date that they can make.

4 weeks is good. I’ve gotten invitations 6-8 weeks in advance and always think k that’s odd.

5 weeks

4 weeks, I find 3 weeks works best as people know their schedules. 6 weeks people set it aside and tend to forget.

I personally prefer as much notice as possible but I know not everyone is like me.

I got an invite a few days ago for a party the weekend before March 21 so now-ish doesn't seem too soon to me.

I would send a text save the date now to my closest friends and let them know an invitation will be mailed at the beginning of March.

Since you are dealing with an established friend circle, I'd say 4 weeks out.

If you were inviting classmates and friends seen at activities I would say 2 to 3 weeks. No more than 3 weeks out.
