Dedicated home dog-shower. It is a thing, it is here and you can read about it here..

Okay so apparently it is a thing, it is new and it is happening..
People are building special showers for the dog use. Not entirely bad idea
considering that now you never have to put a dog into human bathtub if need shower
outside of the summer month access to the hose outside...

I know quite a few people in my neighborhood that have these. My favorite is in the garage. It has stairs up to the dog shower/ tub so the dog can climb up. Then the dog is raised while you bathe them and you don’t bend down.

We have a white standard poodle.
I would love a dog wash in the garage.

I built one in the basement. I have a bad back—I can’t bend over and lift/wrangle the dog. This one is at counter height, with a ramp for the dog to walk up and a side entry door. In the winter when my yard is a muddy mess, the dogs come through the basement door, are rinsed off in the tub (it’s not a shower, I don’t really understand that), and don’t track gobs of mud through the house.

We're putting in an addition, and there will be a porch that leads out to a dedicated dog play area, and we're going to install one of these out on the porch:

We're in a fairly warm climate, but if we were further north, I'd put it inside the mud room.

Pricey, but nice.

Dog people are certifiably insane!

I have a show dog and bathe him in our basement bathtub, with a handheld shower attachment that cost me a few dollars on Amazon.

No need for an expensive reno!

We have one in our mudroom and we don't even have a dog lol.

When we were house hunting we totally toured a house with a dog bath/shower in the mudroom. It was awesome! I so wish we had been able to afford that house- they had literally thought of everything in the design, but of course it came with a price tag to match

Houzz is full of pictures of laundry rooms and mud rooms that include a dedicated dog washing area.

Dog wash must go on the main level. My next house will have one. We currently use our shower with a handheld but it's unfortunately upstairs and steps are starting to be a problem for my old guy, not to mention you don't want to take a muddy dog through the whole house.

I'm not criticizing anything about this thread, but reading through it has brought a smile to my face. When I was a kid, our dog got washed in the back yard with a simple hose pipe.

I’m not even a dog owner, but I suggested this to a friend when the we’re remodeling their first floor. Seems entirely practical
