how do you know if you're in the pool?

Our 2nd grader took the COGAT
Age composite - 121
Age percentile - 91

I don't know his NNAT - it was taken at his prev school and we never saw the report.

Very new to all this - trying to understand where we would know if DS is "in pool" or not. Also, is there a way to know what his NNAT score was?

When you get your Cogat scores, you'll get a letter notifying you that you are in the pool. If you did not receive this letter, your kid is not in the pool

You will likely have to do a parent referral unless one of the CoGAT sub scores was 132 or higher. There is some good info on the screening process and referral forms here:

https://www.fcps.edu/academics/academic-overview/advanced-academic-programs

The Grade 2 Screening Pool for 2019-2020 Level IV Screening is:

* A score of 132 on the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT).
* A 132 Composite Score or 132 for any subscore of the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT).

You’re not in the pool with this score. Was the previous school an FCPS school? If so, your achool’s aART can give you the score from last year.

Sorry, your kid is not in pool. They only notify you if you are in pool, not if you aren’t.
