Is conceiving DC2 easier?

Anonymous
I am still BFing my 10 month old DS and have yet to get my period again. We would like to conceive again. Will my cycle return after BF? If it does not return after a month or so, should i see my dr to trigger it? Any idea whether it is easier to conceive DS2? I had really long cycles before and ended have to use to clomid, where we conceived on our first cycle. Just wondering whether we will have to go that route again.
Thanks

You can ovulate without getting your period. So maybe start charting and see what's going on.

Some people take a couple of months before their period comes back.

I don't really think there's an answer to your question as everyone's experience is different. That being said, I think it's generally harder to conceive while nursing (although women do it all the time). My first few cycles while bf were long and anovulatory, and my luteal phase short. Even once you wean your first few cycles could be very irregular and/or anovulatory. It's just your body's way of getting its hormones back to normal.

Are you still nursing at night?

Like the pp said everyone is different. But many woman get their period when the night breast feeding stops and/or when the demand for milk starts to decrease due to the introduction of solid foods. I would try to pay attention to your fertility signs such as cervical mucous and cervix position.

I would think your period should return soon. Your cylce may be different than before you got pregnant but if iwere you would check out "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and consider charting. I just started charting (we are trying for #2) and even though I feel like a dork, I have learned a lot about myself and fertility. It's very interesting.
