Nora - SUPER trendy and feels like a nickname
Thalia - pretty and interesting but might have pronunciation issues
Mara - fine
Maya - fine but a little dated
Cora - trendy but probably my favorite from this list

OP, I love Cora, Nora and Thalia. I believe Thalia is Jewish though, if you're not and that matters to you.
There's also Maura and Lara.

Who mispronounces Maya?

Talia is often Jewish or with accent over the "i" for Spanish-speakers

I've heard two different pronunciations for Mara

Other short names ending in -a, since that seems to be what you're going for...

OP we have VERY similar tastes in names, all of these names were on my list save for Mara.


Mia - love
Nora - I know soooo many baby/toddler Nora's, so this one was out for me, but I do like it.
Thalia - very pretty but as someone mentioned, very Jewish.
Mara - I don't love this one as much but I don't hate it.
Maya - love
Cora - love

I love Mia. Definitely the best on your list. I know way too many little Mayas and don’t even like the way it sounds. Not really a fan of your other names. But Mia is lovely.
