OMG -- this is what a good streaming network should be.
None of the 50% of crap currently clogging up Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Just high-quality, high-budget films and TV shows. I feel like half of Netflix these days is Bollywood/Nollywood/Korean dramas no one asked for. Amazon Prime has all these random indie films on shoe-string budgets that they don't warn you about. Hulu is just weird. Thank you Disney. Thank you so much. |
| So true. So much crud on Netflix |
What a narrow view of the world. Clearly someone, lots of people, are watching these types of shows on netflix. |
Right. How ignorant can OP get. |
That's an assumption with zero factual basis. Netflix's most popular shows are the usual high-quality Hollywood productions and original content like The Crown, Stranger Things, When They See Us, and Orange Is The New Black. There are plenty of diverse examples that don't include foreign films and its also well known that the reason Netflix has so many of these middling-budget productions (and not high-quality films like the Queen of Katwe (Oscar-nominated and filmed in Kenya), Slumdog Millionaire (Oscar-winner and filmed in India) and Crazy Rich Asians (highest grossing all-Asian cast in box office history) is because the rights are dirt cheap and they need extra fodder content after losing so much to sites like CBS All-Access, Hulu, DC Universe, and now Disney Plus. |

I did the annual subscription. $5.88 is certainly worth it.
I'm still keeping Netflix for now. |
Netflix actually shows you what you watch. I 100% don't get any Bollywood shown to me |
I do a lot of searching through the 'Latest' Netflix offerings. If you search by Add/Release Date, more than half is foreign films/tv shows. Some of the content is good, but there's only so much I can take of subtitled dramas. |
| FYI - There's a promotion for Disney+ for Verizon customers. |
It's for Verizon Wireless Unlimited subscribers - 1 year free. Or new Fios members. https://www.polygon.com/2019/11/11/20959939/disney-plus-verizon-offer-free-year |
Thanks so much! I hadn't seen this and just signed up. |
Yes but if you have Verizon wireless how do you watch on your TV? Am I that dense? Just download an app to your smart TV? |
Probably use the Verizon code to sign-up on Disney+ then watch using the Disney+ app on a Smart TV or a TV with a Fire Stick. I signed up directly with D+ for the 3-year promotion so haven't gone through the roundabout way of doing it. |
What's the 3-year promotion? I can't find that. |
| DIsney+ is either for families with young children or for the most basic adult imaginable. |
