Legoland - Yonkers

Anyone been lately? Wondering if a 9 year old and almost 5 year old would find it fun - they loved the Lego movies. IS it just a lot of big lego (already built) displays to check out?

It's not a Lego Land... it's a Lego Discovery Center. It's small, in a shopping center. Legos to look at and some hands on things to do. It's small but my kids went at 4 and 6 yo and had fun for a rainy afternoon.

ah, ok. Thanks for the correction on the name and for the input from your kids' experience.

I only made the name correction so you wouldn't think it was as "fancy" as a Lego Land. We had to ensure we were setting the right expectations for the kids when we took them there...

The massive Legoland in Goshen (60 miles northwest of Manhattan, on the west side of the Hudson) opens July 4, 2020.

+1. We used to live up there and went a few times. It’s fine if you’re in the area but not worth a special trip.

My 5yr old loves the Lego Discovery Center at King of Prussia mall. We go when we visit friends in Philly. There is a little ride to enter, 3-5 stations to build different things - race cars, trains, Lego Friends, etc. There was a big climbing structure, a large Lego display, a Ninjago laser maze and some short movies to watch. My Lego obsessed kid can easily play Legos at home by himself for 3-4 hours. We could spend a whole day there if our 3yr old didn’t need to nap.

+1 OP I think this is what you might be thinking of, and it hasn't opened yet.

Or if you ever find yourself in the UK, there is a Lego Land in Windsor. It’s a massive almost Disney-like resort.

Not worth it. Its two rides, a climbing area that is a zoo and a few lego stations and a lego store.

My kids were 6 and 8 when we went to the PA Lego Discovery center last year. This is a great description. All four of us were a little underwhelmed when we first walked in, but ended up spending four hours there and having to drag the kids out. It was a blast. It's certainly not worth a drive to Yonkers (or even Philly) but if you're in the area it's a great half day activity.

OP here - thanks, this is perfect. We are going to be in the area visiting family, and so that's why I asked. Wasn't planning a special drive from the DC area. Sounds like my kids might enjoy it for a few hours too. Thanks!

It’s at the Plymouth Meeting mall, right? Don’t think they have one at King of Prussia.

They often have coupons for the discovery center in the lego magazine or on the back of the small poly bag sets
