Isn't Springfield in Fairfax County where the County seat is Fairfax? That city whose mayor was distributing meth through a website used by gay men to arrange casual sexual encounters?

It seems like the FBI would have a lot to clean up in Springfield, much more so than Greenbelt. But hey, if the FBI wants to be closer to meth heads and horrible traffic, they can go for it.
That was one pervert in the Fairfax mayor’s office.
Crime seems more pervasive in PG, including in county government where pay to play corruption goes back decades.
Stop misrepresenting this. Since 2010, when Rushern Baker took office, both Rushern Baker's administration and Angela Alsobrooks administration have worked very hard to change the policies and procedures of the county. That corruption you keep harping on hasn't existed for over a decade.
All this is sour grapes from Virginia. The FBI decision has been revisited twice and twice Greenbelt has been chosen. Talk about changing the conditions of qualification. Greenbelt was the recommended site prior to Trump canceling the selection. Then instead of going back with that decision, they made the GSA start again, and once again GSA selected Greenbelt and Virginia is whining.
The GSA put out a 38 page document showing exactly why they saw the recommendation of the panel, but opted against that recommendation. And the arguments of both time and money saved were very clear. The FBI building is a OSHA nightmare at this point. The FBI needs to be out sooner rather than later before someone gets hurt from an infrastructure failure in the building. And the move to Greenbelt is significantly cheaper and faster to develop than Springfield.
It's going to be very hard for either Congress or the GSA IG office to refute those claims.
