Replacement Key and Fob

Anonymous
Hi

I have a 2006 acura TL and need a replacement key and fob. The dealership wants to charge $370, parts and labor. Is there a less expensive option available?

Thank you in advance for all options suggested.

If you want a brand new replacement key and fob, dealer is the only way to go.
If you still have the old (broken) fob, go to ebay, buy a fob shell and move the chip from the old fob to the new one.
For the key, same thing. Buy a blank, get it cut at Ace Hardware and such.
Total cost around $50

We have a 2006 Odyssey (same manufacturer - maybe similar). The fobs are cheap and easy to buy/configure IF you have one working fob, a working key and the vehicle.

I spent a lot of time on the internet trying to get another key that would work. Many of sites say "of course we can do that for cheap." In the end you have a key with a chip that doesn't start the car. I think it ended up being $270 from the dealer.
