Hydroflask for 12 year old girl - What size?

Anonymous
I need to get a hydro flask locally today. I don't want the gift recipient to know I'm getting it for her, so I can't ask about size. What's more popular among the tween/teen set? I can get both of these at Dicks or REI today:

Hydro Flask Standard Mouth 24 oz. Bottle

or

Hydro Flask Wide Mouth 32 oz. Bottle

She has a swell and likes it, but the cleaning can be a pain. So, I was leaning towards the wide mouth version. What does your teen girl use?

(thanks for helping a clueless mom )

I can answer this!!!

My 12 year old just got one. She was obsessed with wanting one-the darn Hydroflask saga went on for a good month in our house. She finally saved up the $40 (!) from doing random chores for me.

We went to Dick's and she got the 32 oz one. She's at sleepaway camp this week and we just got a picture of her (through the camp) and she's sitting on a picnic table with her friends and all their 32 oz Hydroflasks. Lol

Ha! Thank you, 09:59. That's just the information I needed!

Most of my 13 year olds friends have the 24 oz but they are in middle school with very heavy backpacks so maybe that’s why?

My dd has both and she typically takes the smaller one to school because it fits better in her backpack. The bigger one she usually uses for sports. She has the straw top lid because the bigger one takes a long time to open and isn’t convenient when trying to get a quick drink at practice or in between quarters of a game.

Really? I have a 12-year-old who just got back from sleepaway camp, and I've never heard of this! Is it a brand-conscious, all-my-friends-have-one kind of thing, or is there something special about the functionality of the Hydroflask?

PP, it keeps the water super cold and it is durable.

But why specifically are these kids wanting Hydroflasks? Lots of water bottles do all that, but several posters mentioned that their tween/teen girls had been repeatedly asking for Hydroflasks by name.

I guess I just thought it was funny that brand-name water bottles are now the hot items. In the 80s, my 13-year-old friends and I were saving up for Guess jeans and Swatch watches! We certainly weren't thinking about anything as practical as durability.

NP. Could you please tell me where you found the straw top lid? My daughter would like one but all we can find is the click-lid and the regular screw top. Thank you!

It's a thing. My 17yo daughter wants a hydroflask too. She says this is what the kids at school have.

Whole Foods has one of the biggest selections

FWIW I bought a knock off (Simple Modern) off of Amazon and it works just as well as DH's hydroflask and cost 1/3 of the price. I know that it isn't the name brand - but if you need one for school/sports/etc.

That is pretty funny! I’m in Ca and the kids here like all of the colors and sizes and they put stickers all over them.

Costco sells them for a fraction of the original price. If I remember correctly, they're on sale last month, 2 bottles for $20.
