Progesterone shot safe during pregnancy?

| Has anyone here had progesterone shots with a healthy and successful pregnancy? My Dr said that once I get pregnant past 16 weeks they will give me progesterone until 37 weeks for a short cervix. I miscarried at 8 weeks last time. Wondering if there are any side effects to the baby if I get one every week for the entire pregnancy? |

| My sister who did IVF has had the shots as well. I think they are considered safe. |

| Thanks all. Op here. Just read about Makena and the side effects are concerning but also not sure I would be able to take due tot the listed conditions. Does anyone know if the progesterone suppositories are as effective and any safer? |
