So, these two were in custody, but PG County officials failed to notify ICE before release. Then, after they were released, they murdered a 14 YO girl.

| I don't understand this story. I thought if you are illegal and commit a crime you get deported period. |
If they were arrested a year ago for attempted murder, they should have been put on trial. This story doesn’t add up. |
They were transferred to a juvenile facility. When this was done, PG officials failed to notify ICE. The juvenile facility then released them.

Also from that article:
"They remained detained in the juvenile facility until the disposition of their cases earlier this year." So they were in the juvenile facility from May 15, 2018 until "earlier this year" when they were released. Because they are juveniles, the details of the case are probably not available but I would assume they were not convicted of the initial charges or they would have been held for more than 8 months. |
And, ICE had a detainer on them. PG County transferred them without informing ICE. These two were in the country ILLEGALLY. If they were not convicted, they should have been deported. But, they weren't. And, now they are suspects in the murder of a 14 YO. |
| What about the Frederick, MD teenager whose body was found by the C&O Canal under Chain Bridge? Wonder if they had anything to do with this murder? |
|
There are two separate issues that need to be addressed: 1. If a teen allegedly commits a murder, the criminal justice system should not release him a short while later. Were they cleared of the first murder and then went on to commit a second one? Something is very wrong here. 2. Illegal presence on US soil is a problem for a separate agency with a different process. |
My understanding of this case is that they were initially arrested for attempted murder and other charges. ICE had a detainer on them. Prior to their first arrest, at least one of them had been ordered deported, but never was. After their arrest in PG County, county officials transferred them to a juvenile facility but did not alert ICE of the transfer. And, now, they are suspects in the murder of a teen. Bottom line - neither of these people should be in this country. They were both in custody, but never deported. This is totally unacceptable. And, you can bet there will be similar cases to this one. This is why so many millions of Americans are just sick of the illegal immigration happening and the Democrats inaction on this issue. |
Good luck with that. Lol |

They'll self-deport to avoid the charges.

| Be mad at the State. Not Prince George’s County. Cheltenham is a juvenile facility run by the state. |
PG County never informed ICE that they were transferred to the juvenile facility. |
| Attempted murder = deportation. Wow that is some deterrent. |
They don’t have to. The kids were never release from custody. Cheltenham should have honored the detainers. |
