Nasal drip due to hormones? Help!

Anonymous
Since I found out that I was preganant 3 weeks ago, I have had an annoying tingling in my throat that makes me cough all day, and worse does not let me sleep. This sensation of mucus driping through my throat is not a nice one. Yesterday I googled my symptoms and realized that this must be caused by the change in hormones I'm experiencing with pregnancy. Have any of you suffered from this? If so, what did you take/do? I don't want to take any Rubitussin or any other medicine, but this is getting on my nerves! Is there something I can do? Will this go away soon?

Try a saline nose spray - like Ocean - available over the counter. Totally fine and safe and it'll dry up some of that. It may not go away -- depends on the person!

I've recently become a neti-pot convert. Google it- it's worked wonders for my sinuses.

Sorry to tell you, the cure is delivering your baby.

Second the neti-pot. It takes some getting used to, but it definitely helps with anything sinus-related.

I know Walgreens carries them--called Sinu-Cleanse or something, the plastic pot comes with salt packets--use 1/2 packet per pot to start. If you have a water softener (not sure if people do in DC area) you'll need to use bottled water--nothing fancy, just not softened. Found that out the hard way!

Oh I feel for you...this has happened to me in 2 pregnancies buut thankfully not until mid 2nd trimester. It is terrible. My MD told me to reduce dairy products - although you should still have some and drink plenty of other fluids. I also eventually had to sleep in a recliner.
Good luck.
