| We sold DH’s car last year and share my car now. We’ve both been paying for insurance. Does he need car insurance, or will my insurance suffice if it covers my car? |
| have to make sure your policy covers husband |
| Spouses are pretty much always covered. But checking will take a few minutes. |
| You both need to be covered on your car. |
Please just make sure he is covered before there is a tragedy
|
| Why didn't you just have one policy covering both cars before? |
| I thought every person living in the house who has a drivers license has to be on the policy. Isn't that why everyone's insurance goes up when kids get licenses? |
| This is a really easy question for your insurance provider and you should inquire ASAP |
Some insurance companies have one policy per car. State Farm for example. |
| I have Erie Insurance and my policy lists each vehicle and each driver. If a friend borrowed my car I guess this would be some half and half thing. My insurance would cover my vehicle and damages to it, his insurance would cover his actions. |

Huh. Car insurance follows the car. Still one policy with two drivers is probably cheaper than two policys with one driver. |
| Please clarify if you are receiving one bill or two? You SHOULD have one bill covering your car, but all drivers in the household will be listed on the policy and checked for driving history (tickets, DUIs, etc). |
This is what I was told. Even if one licensed person is not actually driving they still must be on the policy if they live there. |

What is he paying for if he sold the car?
Put him on your policy. |
