How Fast Does One Build Antibodies? (A link to a scientific site?)

Anonymous
My son just got his second shot last night, and I know the flu.gov site says it takes around 8-10 days to have a significant upshot in immunity. This is just totally a geeky question about how the body develops antibodies and all of that. Can anyone explain it in layperson's terms and/or have a link? If I learned it in biology, I certainly don't remember it.

Thanks.
