Why does the Maryland SoccerPlex have fields closed today?

They're supposed to be the best fields in the area, and yet the past few weeks, every weekend there are fields with delayed openings, and or closures. My kid just wants to play soccer!

Short of an English Premier League drainage system, rain is going to mess with grass fields. That they're even open half the day today is pretty impressive given the conditions at other fields around that area.

Last nights storm was freaking crazy in the area.

Most of the field are open depending on the drainage. Our kids' was but everywhere around it was soggy with huge puddles everywhere.
Not something they could control.

You could play at Muldoons.

we played Saturday evening on a grass field there. it is the best facility arguably in the country, i trust their judgement on when they should open and close fields.

It would be awesome if there were more fields like Soccerplex in MoCo.
