Light up sneakers

Anonymous
Our kids have been asking for light up sneakers for months. I was resisting and then realized that they're kids, this is their chance to wear ridiculous things like light up shoes and I should lighten up. They've always worn See Kai Run brand shoes. The light up shoes I see from a brand I know is Skechers. Are these good quality shoes? (supportive, flexible, etc...) Are there other brands worth considering?

One of my kids has the sketchers ones. They are not poorly made but they are similar to converse shoes.

Sketchers shoes wear out fairly quickly. But the kids must have the light ups. It is what it is.

At least the sketcher seem comfy.

my 2yo has light up rain boots from Costco. Let them have fun

Mine have stride rite light up shoes. They’re washable and have held up well.

We've had Skechers and Stride Rite, and the Stride Rite held up better.

My 5 year old has managed to destroy shoes of many different brands, including Stride Rite, Sketchers, Saucony, and New Balance. And if he didn't destroy it he outgrew it. Sketchers is a fine brand.

I always said I'd never do light-up sneakers but he loved them so much we agreed. Now those sneakers with the little wheels (do they still make those?) I absolutely will not do. They seem unsafe.

Thanks. I'll check out the Stride Rite selection!

My kid had Puma light up sneakers, I liked them because they were low key.

Thankfully we are out of the light up phase but we had Stride Rites because my son has wide feet and needed a wider shoe.

These sound great! Wish they came in my size

My 3yo picked out the loudest pair of bright pink paw patrol light up sneakers at Kohl’s. She alternates between those, cowboy boots, blue Wellies, and red Toms.

I have no problem with the ugly-ness of the shoes. I'm more worried about them being supportive, lightweight and flexible. Do you not worry about that?

We got some at Stride Rite that were spiderman or starwars branded. The light up part didn't last very long as my kid loves to jump in mud puddles, but they were otherwise good shoes.
