Helicopter egg drop near DC?

Anonymous
My little guy is obsessed with helicopters. I've heard that there are some Easter events at which a helicopter flies in and drops thousands of eggs for the kids to "hunt." That would just blow my 3yo's mind in the best possible way.

Anyone know of one of these in the DC metro area? I've been googling, but I haven't found one within two hours of DC yet, and I'm wondering if I'm just not looking in the right places.

What's your go-to resource for finding events like these?

I am from here and have never heard of any such thing (don't people get hit with the eggs? Why are the eggs being dropped by the helicopter? So many questions)

So I will say no, nothing around here.

No wonder we now have a generation of people that need elaborate promposals, $100K weddings, and are constantly “bored” with their lives, and think reality shows are reality.

I suspect my “go-to” resource for this kind of thing would be Google. But, that said, this wouldn’t be a go-to event for our family.

Not an egg drop, but the Bowie Baysox do a helicopter candy drop. This year it looks like it's for the June 30th game. Tickets go on sale in a few days.

you really think a THREE YEAR OLD needs a helicopter egg drop?

A three year old will have his mind blown collecting a bunch of eggs that have chocolate or treats in them.

If this is that important at this stage, I wonder what will fulfill him in the coming years?

My church did this (not local). It was pretty cool ? no one is allowed on the field till after the helicopter is gone- you waited behind lines. A brave person leaned out and dumped the big bags of eggs.

The first time, we learned that the eggs bounce and you should tape the eggs after filling

It was so fun, but a lot of prep work to put on, and you need lots of space. We rented a place.

Sorry, I'm not aware of one in this area, but we were in Charleston, SC a few years ago for Easter and went to one there, and it was awesome! My kids had a blast, but it certainly didn't ruin our regular old hide the plastic eggs in the back yard egg hunts - they still love those, and not once have they complained that the eggs weren't falling from a helicopter Good luck finding one nearby OP - it really is a cool thing to do!
