Does your school take fall and spring student photos?

Yes and it’s too much for me. Once a year is fine.
Why are we taking instructional time on that 2x?

My thoughts exactly. Sometimes as a new K parent, some of the things that the school runs makes me scratch my head. It seems to always boil down to money though, for this case making more profit for the photograph company.

Our previous school did not but our one this year does. I'm fine with once a year. I much prefer the pictures we take of our kids ourselves or the ones we have of our whole family.

Ours does and the only thing that annoys me is I can’t just purchase or print a few small copies, you only get the $30+ package and end up with a 5x7 and like 7 wallets after giving them to grandparents. I want a copy to keep, but don’t need a whole package!

It’s 20 minutes, max. They do it 2x because it’s a fundraiser for the school.

Exactly. I keep a 5x7 for my office, one in the kids' photo album, give a few away, and I'm left with like ten little photos.

My kids are tweens/teens now and I have a pile of these old school photos in a closet....that I can't bear to throw away, because kid photos!

Ours does. I like it. I'm not a great photographer so I love having nice photos of my kids twice a year. I always buy them. I know I'm a sucker but it also raises money for the school so whatever.

Yes -- this is preschool. My 2.5 year old has been at the center since last year and has yet to smile in any of them, but spring photos are coming up and we'll see if this time is better!

They also do class pictures at the end of the year, which I like.

Yes, MCPS2Xs a year. I only purchase fall. The spring ones have these fake outdoor backdrops that are awful! And, they are fundraisers for the PTA. You can decide to purchase or not - not a big deal to pass on one or both of them.
