Kid haircut place

Looking for a good place to take 4 y/o DS for a haircut. We had been going to Bravado for Kids, but now that they closed the kids salon, it's really not worth the $25 price tag. Looking EOTP. We've done the Dupont Circle Hair Cuttery but it's hit or miss and parking is a PITA. Any secret gems I don't know about?

Haven't gotten a kids cut there but H St. Hair in NE has a race car chair for kids, and they're a bit more inexpensive in general.

If you're willing to go to MD, Kids Friendly Faces is good. They used to be at Wheaton Mall, but just moved to a new location nearby.

When did they leave? I was there maybe a month ago, and they were downstairs by the play area.

O/T but am I the only person who hasn't taken my child to a child-specific place for haircuts? I just always have taken them to a real hair salon.

I never have but I don’t have one nearby. I have wished for them with my youngest two who hate haircuts because I think places like that would be more fun and better at distracting them but we’ve gotten by with regular salons.

My kid freaked out the first few times he got his hair cut. I was so glad I was in a place that everyone understood and the staff works fast. Now he loves to get his haircut. Probably because it’s the only place he’s allowed to watch Paw Patrol. When we go to the Mall, he makes a beeline to Cartoon Cuts because he wants to get his hair cut. The fact that he loves it so much is a sign to me that going to a kid centric place was a good choice for us.

I do it only because they tend to be cheaper than regular hair salons.

If you are in NWDC try Tenleytown Barber near the WholeFoods/BestBuy. Accessible on Metro. $15 and the staff is great with kids. Lina is the owner and all of her staff treat kids like they are their own. And may spoil them with suckers.
