crazy mom sighting

Yesterday, I saw a woman pushing a baby in a stroller down the double yellow line of Route 50...in the middle of rush hour traffic. No median strip...she had cars zooming past her 60 mph, a few feet away on both sides, and the next intersection was at least a mile away. WTF! How could she not be scared for her life?

I agree....WTF???

I hope someone called the cops and social services.

Maybe it was a MacLaren stroller and what you saw was a mad dash home because she just learned about the recall.

Are there sidewalks on Rt. 50? Just wondering, because I'm a huge advocate for sidewalks. There just aren't enough!! And, if you need to walk somewhere, sometimes you're just out of luck.

Not that she should've been walking in the median. But, just reiterating Virginia's lack of sidewalks!

funny.

she was probably pushing along all of her worldly possessions, not a baby.

I think I saw her too! My jaw dropped in disbelief. Was she wearing a burqa? Near 7 corners?

YES!

Virginians think everyone travels by burro. It is indeed a scary place.

Who needs sidewalks with something that draws peds like say, offices (see Route 7) the Metro (see Route 123) or a pesky school (ANY given neighborhood too close for busing)? Backwoods, baby!

are you sure she had a baby in that stroller?

Even if not, she does sound unbalanced. I hope she gets help.

Watch out for hunters with bows and arrows, though!

That's pretty crazy ZM, but I've seen much worse.

Yup. There are paved trails on either side of Route 50, and they are pretty well-maintained. There really was no excuse for crazy mom's actions. I'm also a big advocate for sidewalks.
