| Looks like this could be a lot of fun with the waterpark, ninja course, climbing areas etc, but it’s pretty pricey since you pay by the hour. It’s $23 per hour for the waterpark. Is a full membership worth it? Does anyone use the gym and would recommend it? |
| No. Way too expensive for membership, lessons, teams, clinics, etc are all extra. It’s in such a random location. My kids have been taking clinics there for certain sports since September and it’s too hard to get to to use as a regular gym. I am there usually two times a week so I am very familiar with the complex and how traffic is to just get there on an average day. |
| Here today for a swim meet and I must say, it’s an impressive facility. Definitely great for sporting events. Not sure I’d pay that high a price for a regular gym membership though. The weight area for powerlifting is amazing but if all you want is a regular gym then way too expensive. Especially because all the others sports stuff is extra. |

Don’t join.
We already cancelled our mrmbersip |

The problem is that the member discounts are minimal. Even as a member, you have to pay for pretty much everything. The free member hours st the water park and the Super Awesome thing are completely useless - during the school day!
Same with ice skating. It’s way overpriced. It’s poorly run and very disorganized. None of the rnoloyees know anything about what’s going on. And the traffic is awful. It’s imposdible to get to during rush hour. |
This. The employees are terribly uninformed. Location is awful. Membership perks don't make up for the high prices built in. Great for clinics/leagues but we chose not to join after talking with one of their "Ambassadors." |
Why did you cancel? |
|
I wish it were better. The employees are completely unknowledgeable about everything. Also, the kids club is weirdly small for such a huge facility. And, there should be a place for the kids in the kids club to be active - like an indoor playground.
The gym would be great but is not worth the drive, UNLESS I could bring the kids and do things with them (like ice skate, or swim, etc) before they go to the childcare. Yet, we can't do that because of restricted schedule and add-on fees (I don't mind spending money and our HHI is 500K, but add-on fees for something I already pay a lot for drive me crazy). My DH was initially excited about the prospect of us going for the day, putting the kids in the childcare, then using the hitting range and working out, for example, while I work out and get my nails done, and then we all go ice skating, or whatever. But the limited hours on the rink, and the add on fees and appointments required for the range, all make that impossible. I hope they change it up and improve the place. I'd still be interested in going in the future if all the great things there were actually available to members, instead of being restricted by limited hours and add on fees. |
| Also, I live in West Springfield which must be part of their target market and people out here don't spend that kind of money on clubs or care about high end facilities like that. We are the DC "middle class". I don't see it working. |

A neighbor joined and was complaining to me it was $150 per person, no family membership. So for a family of 4, that’s $600 per month. She said they already know they won’t renew. I
It is located right by the mixing bowl, off of Edsall/395 in a funky industrial zone. With practically one way in and one way out, so traffic is horrible during rush hour (which seems to be when all my kids’ sports clinics are scheduled there). I have gotten the hard sell many times while waiting for my kids but the price and location make it a nonnegotiable for me to use a regular family gym. |
All the reasons the PP cited above. It makes no sense to pay for a membership cause the discounts are minimal - like you still pay 20/hour for water park and the member hours are useless - during school day. The staff is also really, really clueless. There’s a few great employees. The lady heading up the lax program is so fantastic and responsive and just super nice and encouraging. But the rest....ugh. They have no idea what’s going on in the club. |
| I am worried they are going to shut down though. I would like it to stay open for the fields and ice. Any indication they will adjust their business plan to prevent it from closing? |
| DS has enjoyed it, but I see no need to join. I think part of their problem is people think you do need to join even though that is only needed for the health club. |
