Common App question- Does anyone know what the State Testing Identifier (STI) is or how to find out? My daughter is asking her counselor, but I figured I’d ask here too. Thanks!

I know that in Virginia each student is given a number (called the State Testing Identifier) that is used for all of their SOLs so they can be tracked over the years.
Do you live in Virginia or is she applying to a Virginia state school? |
Both (live in and applying to a school in VA). Thanks for your response. Now we just have to figure out how to get that number... |
Counselor should have it. |
Is it not the student id number? |
The number is located on their transcript in 'State ID' box. |
Hopefully they figured it out from 2 months ago. ![]() |
For anyone who finds this as a google search result, you can get your student's STI on the top of any of their SOL testing reports (which in Loudoun are available in ParentVUE) |
you are a life saver |
Do colleges in VA care about a student's SOL test results? |
They Prob don’t care about test results specifically, but there’s a lot of data connected to that number. |
It helps prove that the applicant is truly a VA resident. |
