So we got my 15 month old DD's seasonal flu shot, and our second is scheduled for Monday.
I just got a call from the dr. saying they are out, call back in two weeks. I talked to the nurse, apparently she does have some immunity from the shot, there is no concern of that "wearing off" until we can get the second shot. But, with her 15 month appointment coming up, she will get her 15 month shots (I believe she is due for Hib booster, she had chicken pox and MMR at 12 months.) And I want to get her the H1N1 when they are available at her pediatricians, so what to do? I'm think of flaking out on the 2nd seasonal flu shot. It sounds like H1N1 is the strain for the season, so maybe a bit of a immunity from seasonal is good but not sure I need to get the second shot. Thoughts? |
| Can your ped refer you somewhere else that has the seasonal as scheduled? I'd try to stay on schedule and get the second shot. |
| She can get the flu shot along with her 15 month shots. I believe they can all be given at the same time. |
