How much protection does the first dose of the H1N1 vaccine provide?

Do I still need to worry about DC getting the flu until she gets the second dose?

Interested in hearing any answers to this one too. I recall from my DS's first reg flu shot (when he had to get 2 his first year of life) that there is some protection from 1st shot but not 100%. I have to assume this is the same.

I think, in a nutshell, this suggest that there is a pretty good response in kids after 21 days, and a great response after 35 days if they have the second shot. So, I guess "pretty good" is better than nothing! Granted it's from China, but toget into NEJM it must be pretty sound, and 2) our stuff has got to be better QA than theirs so I think it is something to go on...
