Please vote for Democrats.
My daughter has a rare disease, and I have posted before. Our insurance has paid over $150,000 in surgeries for her, to try to give her a normal life again. If the Republicans stay in power, insurance companies may regain the ability to reject customers who have “pre-existing” conditions, and she would be one of those people. She is 7. She needs medical care. We are not wealthy and paying for her treatment out of pocket would financially ruin us, if we even managed it. Please don’t vote for the people who are going to ruin my daughter ‘s ability to live a normal life. Vote Democratic. |
Many of us in the same boat.
Good luck to you and your daughter. |
Republicans do not care. Make sure you tell this story to every single one of your friends and family who vote for them.
They won't get it until you make it personal. |
Move to TX, who will cover you regardless of income. |
The idea that Republicans will reject customers with pre-existing conditions is nonsense. I am so sorry your daughter has such health issues. I wish the best to her and to your family. I know it’s tough. |
I am with you OP. My daughter also has a rare syndrome and we have to make sure to always stayed covered because no insurance would ever cover her again if we lost coverage. Have you tried a good Blue state. Massachusetts has good accessible insurance and amazing doctors! And jobs are plentiful.
All this said, Republicans only care about themselves They really don't want to help anyone. |
Unfortunately I have to work to support my family, and it’s not really possible for my husband and I to find work in Texas. But thank you for the suggestion. |
You apparently have seen the new Republican list of pre-existing conditions that no longer have to be covered. |
Actually several Republicans states are suing to repeal Obamacare including the part about pre-existing conditions. I’m not sure why you believe that Republicans would not accept a return to the status quo of circa 2008. They were ok with it then, why wouldn’t they be ok with it now? Please let me know your thoughts. And thank you for your well wishes. |
What is your daughter’s life expectancy with ongoing medical treatment? |
Normal, thankfully. |
Not OP but why should it matter? My own daughter has a chronic condition that is fine with maintenance treatment over a lifetime. The taxes she will pay will far out weigh the cost of her treatment. Without treatment she will go blind and cost the tax payers a fair chunk of change. |
Will do, OP, for your kids' sake - and mine. |
OP sending good wishes for your daughter’s health. The ACA saved my brother’s life. He will never get insured again if the republicans take away the pre-existing mandate. So if his cancer ever returns he will be done because he already lost most of his life savings paying for treatments before the ACA. |
I worry about pre existing conditions myself. I remember how tedious and knit picking the insurance application was before Obamacare. I had to list every illness, surgery, health concern. If you forgot one detail it was grounds for them canceling your insurance. |
