H1N1 vaccine with a runny nose

Anonymous
my DD is supposed to receive the h1n1 vaccine tomorrow. She has a runny nose but no fever and is otherwise acting normal. She is a high risk kid with bad lungs (not sure if that matters)

does anyone know if she should still get the vaccine?

Call her pedi and ask!

I think it may be a problem if she is getting the flumist (even though my dd had a stuffy nose last week and still received the flumist). If she has lung problems, she shouldn't be getting the flumist, she should be getting the shot.

good luck.

Not a problem for her immune system, but if she has a stuffy nose she won't be able to do the flumist. I had this problem today and this is what I was told by the nurse at the clinic.

If it's the shot, I'd do it...
