shot vs mist for 2.5 yr old

my ped office has the shot but not mist- thoughts on mist vs shot? Should I go to a clinic for mist or take shot

The mist does not have thimerosal. I would go with the mist.

I don't think you even have a choice here. I mean, I don't think they give the mist to children under 36 months because although weaken, it is a live virus.

The flumist is now allowed over age 2 (on the other hand, I think there are pediatric doses of the shot that don't have thimerosal, if that is a concern).

i think alot of places are reserving the shots for children who cannot get the mist (those under 2 and those over 2 with conditions like asthma). might be better to get the mist now rather than wait for the shots.

My 3.5 YO DS got the mist and was fine. Mist has been empirically shown to be more effective in kids...

My son is 28 months and got the mist last week. He was fine with it and it was less traumatic for him than the shot. My 4 year old also got the mist.
