Tell me a little about your family, your priorities, etc . . . People define great schools differently -- for me diversity, educational equity (not huge discrepancies between subgroups), a school culture that values problem solving, and arts instruction are key. Other people value test scores, or great college outplacements Some people want depth of curriculum, others want acceleration so their kids can take algebra in 6th grade.
Also how do you feel about putting your little one in private preschool for the remainder of this year, and then moving him (her?) to public Kindergarten? Good public Prek can be hard to find midyear in this area.
