I hosted a sleepover once and it was a lot of fun until it wasn’t. It was just 2 kids and I had to end up separating them because one kid was bothering the other kid. Last sleepover my son attended, kids got no sleep and one kid started crying at 1:30am and his mom picked him up.
I was thinking of hosting a sleep under party and have Parents pick up around 9-10 or DH can just drive everyone home then. Maybe have the party 5-9 - play, dinner, movie or video games. |
| Please don't call it a "sleep under." That is so Pinterest. |

Love it.
When I was little we weren't allowed to go to sleepovers (for the reasons you mentioned) and my parents always picked us up around 10pm. We had all the fun, without missing a night of sleep. |
How old are the kids? My 7 yo DD would love a sleep under. My 11 year old DS would call it a party. It’s a great idea. My kids get cranky the next day and DS stopped wanting to go to sleepovers about a year ago when he realized he never slept and was exhausted the next day or two. He prefers to sleep in his own bed and would like to hang out and come home at 10. DD still loves sleepovers but also never sleeps and is so cranky the next day. I’m cranky from not sleeping when they are here. |
| We call them no-sleepover, pretend sleepover, or pajama parties. These are the best.... movie, pizza , tie dye, pillow fights, but the kids go home before bedtime. |
| Love both going to or hosting a sleep under (or whatever you'd like to call it). All the fun without the crankiness. My daughter is now 9 and she still loves them, too. |
I have 2 boys turning 8 and 10. Their birthdays are a day apart. Considering a sleep under for 8yo. |
|
Just call it a party.
Have it end at 9, not 10. |

I call that a Pyjama party. Kids bring PJs, maybe sleeping bags if they have them, they have dinner, a little dessert and watch a movie. Perfect! |
| Did a sleep under ( and yes that’s what we called it ) when DD was 8. We did 5-9. |
You didn't mention ages. |
Serve pancakes for dinner |
Yes Call it a party. |
| Sleep under is confusing. Just call it a pajama party. But I think it's a great idea. |
NP. I love these ideas. |
