Fairfax Clinic this weekend for 6-36mo and pregnant women

Fairfax has a really nice website available with information about the clinic they are having on Saturday

http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/flu/h1n1-vaccine-distribution.htm

To assist the public throughout Saturday, Fairfax County will provide real-time information about the availability of vaccine through their website, twitter and facebook.
Also, strollers won't be allowed in the building.
The Health Department did not receive any preservative free flu shots in this shipment and preservative free injectable flu shots will not be offered on Saturday.

I've got to say, so far I'm impressed with how organized they are.

I still think it's gonna be a zoo and am planning to stay far, far away! How much you wanna bet people will be camping out in line the night before?

This just in... NO STROLLERS allowed.

Pure evil genius, I tell you.

Being a mother of twins, I have got to say that the no stroller policy borders on discrimination. Especially since multiples are more likely to have been born prematurely and be susceptible to respiratory problems. On one hand they tell you to bring snacks, books and toys for your children and too keep them with you at all times, but not to bring your stroller inside? How long will the wait inside be? How am I supposed to contain one child while the other one is getting his shot? What about for parents of higher order multiples or special needs children? After all, we are talking about children who are 36 months or younger!

Yep, it's absurd. I am thinking of skipping this one altogether. The insanity will calm down soon enough.....

I agree- the no stroller policy is horrible.

I think they can't help it because there are stairs to be navigated. Should the have perhaps chosen an accessible location for the flu clinic????? Sigh.

There's no pleasing you people.

The policy is not intended to discriminate, it's intended to accommodate as many people as possible. Maybe one parent or friend can wait in line while the other adult takes the kids out for a walk.

I planned to send my husband ahead so he can stand in line. We assume the line will be several hours long. Once he starts getting close, he will call me and I'll bring our toddler to him so he can get his vaccination.

Oh come on! I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that a flu clinic specifically for TODDLERS allow strollers. It's just customer service for their target market - taxpayers.

It is going to be a ZOO if there are no strollers in there.....

Yes, it will likely be a zoo. It is also supposed to be raining outside that day. That *might* help cut the crowd.

Just keep repeating to yourself "more vaccines are being shipped every day. More will be available next week."

Oh, c'mon! Half the consignments sales I went to this fall said "no strollers". This is hardly unique to the Fairfax clinic.

Get over it. Everyone here relies on their stroller too much anyway. Just deal with your kids rather than strapping them in.

Get ready for some unhappy people. Not saying what you're doing is wrong, but I bet others in line won't like it, even if you are 9 months pregnant.
