H1N1 vaccine at 6 weeks pregnant?

Anonymous
Does anyone know if it's safe to have the shots this early in pregnancy? I have my first OB appointment on Nov. 3, and had been planning to wait and ask then, but it seems like the vaccines are going quickly, so I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and get the shot?

I think it's safe to wait until your appointment and ask. More of the vaccine is supposed to be available in November.

I was told not to get my flu shot till the second trimester.

I am also 6 weeks pregnant and got the H1N1 today. I spoke to three doctors and they all said it was not too early and since I work with kids that it was very important I get it sooner than later. It will already be December before we are out of our first trimester and I feel that is way too late so I "bit the bullet" and got it today.

CDC says okay to get in first trimester, and encourages it. But I don't think Nov 3 is too far off not to wait if you don't feel comfortable. Problem is if they don't have vaccine then you need to go find someplace.
