I'm 20 weeks and my legs are starting to get tired and my ankles to swell.
Has anyone used and liked compression stockings? Best brands/types? |
I got the Jobst brand at the Compression Store on line. My doctor likes that brand. I would not say that they are comfortable but they are not so bad either. I got used to them a few days after wearing them. |
I bought some at Foer's Pharmacy at 18th and I (Farragut West).

Could people say more about how they wore them (all day?) and what effect they had (just decreased swelling? ended swelling? felt better?). |
I also bought mine at Foer's on 18th Street. I bought the Sigvaris brand maternity compression stockings which are basically pantyhose with reinforced heels and toes. I wear pantyhose every day for work anyway so the Sigvaris is nice and comfortable if pricey ($50) and came in a size that fit my super short legs without leaving wrinkles around my ankles. My doctor said $50 isn't a bad price for Sigvaris. Apparently, Foer's can order Sigvaris items that cost over $200!
I can't speak to the reduction of swelling since it hasn't been an issue for me. |
For the PP, why do you wear compression stockings if not for swelling? |
They worked well for swelling and now I continue to wear them post partum. My legs feel much better at the end of the day when I wear them. (I bought the Sigvaris brand at Foers as well). I used monies from my flexible spending account to buy them. |
