Congress should fund government only after the executive branch starts following Congress's laws

I guess $8 billion of green energy funding is stopped and won't be recycled into the democrat campaign machine.

Most of that funding went in to the pockets of red state workers who then spent their earned income in red state stores and red state restaurants and bars. Ooops.

OOH, mommy look what they made me do! Really PP, can't you come up with something better than this toddler BS.

This type of vitriol only tells me Ds know they’ve been played and outmaneuvered.

Trump is using it as an opportunity to do mass layoffs and permanently close whole parts of the federal bureaucracy.

Right. But at what point will Trump actually try to govern the country. Also, when's he going to release those Epstein files?

Oh, he's governing. The fact that you don't like it tells everyone he is.

No, he's actually not. At least not democratically. He hasn't passed a budget. He can't adequately run the executive branch. All he's doing is destroying what he doesn't understand, and that's everything.

The House passed a CR. Democrats didn't go along in the Senate.

Oh well.

That's not the same thing as hashing out a budget based on stated priorities and debating it.

You idiots keep voting for GOP and Dem politicians and then magically expect different results. This is the definition of insanity and stupidity.

This is not a "both sides" thing no matter ho many times you try to post otherwise.

No, actually, most of it didn't.

You don't make up lies very well on-the-fly. Try harder, idiot.

Can you shut up or at least take a break from this board today. You are exhausting. We get it, you don’t think we can debate anything that is happening because Trump and Biden were nominated in 2024. Most of us disagree and think current events still matter.

Biden was nominated in 2024 you two-bit racist troll.

But Trump AND Biden WERE nominated. If you're trying to be the grammar police, make sure you're right about the diction correction you're making.

Trump was nominated for the 3rd consecutive time by the idiot GOP in 2024. The moronic Dem Party nominated Biden only once in 2020. Harris was the Dem nominee in 2024 and she was a refreshingly good option relative to the two tired elderly jackasses you thoughtless knuckleheads foolishly elected.

I'm so sick of the "both sides" posters. There are two very distinct sides. On one side we have the regular 99% of American people fighting to cling to some amount of control over their Federal Government. On the other side we have the ultra-wealthy political mega-donors who have gained 99.9% of control over our two corrupt major political parties.

I'm siding with the 99% of regular American people and I say eff you to the lost fools out there who are siding with the mega-donors when they themselves don't have the wealth to buy political influence. Be smarter!!

There are plenty of candidates out there who refuse contributions from mega-donors. You could at least support them.

No one elected Steven Miller or Russel Vought and yet those two ghouls are doing the job of Congress, the president, and the Supreme Court.

This isn’t a discussion about elections, past or future. It is a discussion about the current government shutdown. Stay focused.

You are on every post with this both sides whining. No one cares. We have the government we have, and we are still allowed us discuss and debate the actions they are or are not taking.

.

They aren’t just failing to step in. They are using this CR to abdicate their responsibility to govern.

There are some but not plenty of national level GOP and Dem politicians out there who aren't mega-donor puppets and I do appreciate those politicians who choose to maintain their integrity over advancing their careers (looking at you AOC). Unfortunately for those politicians, their career ceilings are capped at a low level due to their refusal to play nice with money (looking at you AOC).

Congress didn’t fail. REPUBLICANS FAILED.

Congressional Republicans have quit on the American people. They refuse to do their job as detailed by the American Constitution. Congressional Republicans have quit out of fear and cowardice. They fear Trump more than their own constituents. It’s truly pathetic.

That's not the same thing as hashing out a budget based on stated priorities and debating it.
They have nine of 12 bills passed out of committee in the house.
Meanwhile, they proposed continuing with the same funding that Democrats passed in March 2024, that has been continued three times already.
