See also, former K&E partner Brett Kavanaugh.

Ha ha ha

And in true Kavanaugh fashion, Calder is now saying he didn't write the email: https://www.abajournal.com/news/article/did-kirkland-partner-write-this-isnt-a-gravy-train-email-only-part-of-it-sounds-genuine-he-says

Is this the Shaggy defense or is he claiming it was a rogue legal secretary?

Let's not forget Starr, Bolton and Barr. But they never did any work at the firm truly. They just paid them for publicity.

I literally cry everyday because I’m treated so poorly in biglaw and I’ve applied to every job under the sun these past few months (I was a lobbyist before this and why I left god knows, and I’m applying to anything, including administrative assistant jobs and the like just to get out) and nobody is calling because the economy has gone to hell. I’m now figuring out how much I need to have saved to just quit with nothing lined up so that I can reclaim my life and mental health. So, yes, I feel exactly like an indentured servant who wakes up everyday just to be verbally abused by some sociopath partner who is miserable in quarantine like this guy.

You need a change of pace and place, clearly. And more savings, so you won’t feel trapped next time.

But right now, when lots off people are trying to juggle lack of childcare, illness in their own households or extended family, etc., I think this was really inappropriate. If there are individuals that they know are twiddling their thumbs but not taking on this work because it’s not what they want to do, address that with them directly. Don’t shame people who may be struggling just to meet their minimum requirements because of an external crisis over which hey have no control.

I also work in big law, and my group is still very busy. Our senior partners are really sensitive to what’s going on, they’re checking in with people individually so they know who might have extenuating circumstances, and they’re distributing work accordingly with promises that nothing is going to be held against people who can only do the minimum right now. And yet, my firm is doing well. Our Billings and revenues are strong, and they’ve told us explicitly there are no plans for pay cuts or layoffs because we don’t need them. So it can be done if you’re just not an asshole.

This. What is wrong with people.

He could just check his sent emails and confirm. SMH.

+1. He absolutely wrote it, doesn’t want to admit it, but can’t deny it or someone will provide otherwise. He’s a liar.
