If you're Christian, are you going to church for Easter?

Anonymous
No. And I won’t be live-streaming a service either. It’s just not the same. I go to church mainly for the sense of tradition and community, which you can’t get online.

No. More just terrified, given the packed churches we've all been seeing.

Stop. You wouldn't have added in words like "inexcusable" if you didn't want to diss Christians.

You're not looking good, OP.

Any gathering of people during this time is "inexcusable" no matter who is doing it.

precisely.

Then why didn’t OP start a thread about Orthodox Jews, something she presumably is less ignorant about?

I am asking you to stop again. You make Catholics look like assholes. The vast majority of us are sensitive to these concerns and if you think your persecution complex is more important than the health, safety and comfort of society then you are alone in that. Please, please stop.

Are you OP?

This is OP. Thank you.

OP, I hope you learned a few things about other religions and pot stirring.

I learned that Catholics are doing well, which is great. I also learned that people are exceptionally sensitive, which is probably understandable given the situation.

You should learn to apologize. Your OP was indefensible.

I'm sorry for calling out the Pope when it wasn't accurate. I'm glad I was wrong.

You insult people and then blame them for being sensitive? OP, you sound like a peach.

What part of “please stop” do you not understand?

OP and others, this one asshole is NOT representative of the rest of Catholics. In fact I doubt he is catholic at all. He certainly doesn’t behave as I was taught.

OP apologized for being wrong about the pope and that should do it.

PP you ARE extra sensitive to the point of being an obnoxious jerk and the criticism is warranted. You are repulsive.

Thanks. I never meant to insult Catholics. Heck, half my family is Catholic. They aren't offended by questioning what the Catholic Church might do moving forward and what religions in general are doing throughout this.

Stop blaming other countries. There are enough conservative churches here in the US that disdained the warnings and the social distancing state orders and infected large groups. Just read the news. Churches in Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana and Ohio have continued to hold in-person services refusing to follow the law.

Several pastors have been arrested for holding services after stay-at-home orders have come out. Also, several churches have hit the news for holding services before the stay-at-home orders came out, but then having large outbreaks of Covid-19 after the stay-at-home order came out. There are many churches that held out and jumped on the bandwagon too late.

American churches in half a dozen states have been in the news for these issues.

You’re taking to multiple posters who think OP is repulsive, that she knew exactly what she was doing, and that she only apologized after there was no other out and she realized she was making Jews look bad.

But I’m done posting about OP.

No. Just you. Thanks for stopping.

Ours is intentionally UNlocked so people can come in to pray at any time, on their own, while keeping a safe distance from others. No services held, except online.

So … come. breath your germs, pray some.. leave the germs for the next person to inhale.. take home.. die some..

What an unethical concept knowing that the virus is known to hang in the breath our air for 3 to 9 hours if undisturbed.
Imagine how many people enter the space and leave behind the invisible killer.
Fascinating.

Us Jews will stay home for Passover (all the synagogues I know of have gone to totally virtual services anyway) but I've heard nothing from the Pope. It's inexcusable that he hasn't come out and urged Catholics to stay home and access virtual masses.

The Catholic Church closed all it’s churches and has forbidden any public masses. What more could they do?

Catholics aren't the only ones who celebrate Easter ...
'

Well, Catholic and mainline Protestant churches are all closed....so maybe some evangelical churches, but even then, many are live streaming services.
