Well, i’m not Christian and I don’t celebrate Christmas in anyway shape or form. So Santa is counter to my morals and my beliefs. I don’t engage in the whole Santa spiel because it’s not part of my belief system. I have every right to do that as you have every right to celebrate and believe. You do not have a right to tell me or anyone else not to pretend to not engage because it’s not my tradition. If you said that then I would tell you not to pretend not engage in the celebration of my new year, which is different from yours. I would also bark at you not to pretend not to engage celebration of any of my peoples truimphs. Believe what you want how you want. However, do not tell others that because some believe in it they have to keep their mouth shut. If that were the case then I would fully expect you to do the same for me and my traditions, which is simply not done in this country at all. However again, I don’t sit around complaining about it I just go about my day and my business with my family celebrating my holiday in my way. That is what you should be doing. |
It’s that simple. I tell my kids that I believe in Santa. Oldest is 12 and youngest is 4. We believe. If 12yo decides she doesn’t anymore that’s fine. People not believing doesn’t stop Santa from coming in our house. |
