Angry former MCPS teacher, now resident of Howard County, who comes on every single MCPS thread to spread bitterness.

There’s one who moved to Frederick and is just as bitter and fixated.

There seem to be A LOT of very unhappy MCPS teachers. They don't sound bitter to me just mistreated by a bad system. I know quite a few MCPS teachers in real life and they all describe the central office and culture coming out of it as very toxic. However, I'm sure that if you are in the central office then they must sound bitter because you know the central office is just awesome.

I’m not in Central Office. DH and I are classroom teachers in MCPS. Both career changers with no desire to leave the classroom. I know unhappy teachers. Some have good cause to be unhappy in MCPS specifically. Others will be miserable in education anywhere. I just don’t understand coming back repeatedly to DCUM to post about a system you left. Do former UPS employees who go to work for FedEx constantly write about how awful UPS is?

And the "well back HOME in New Jersey (or CT/NY/MA/wherever) we don't have this issue because we have TOWNS BASED school systems" with a lengthy internal diatribe on the inferiority of county-based schools.

The person who is always reminding us that we are privileged and out of touch with how common folk live. I MEAN, WE KNOW, THAT'S WHY WE POST ANONYMOUSLY AMONG OTHER PEOPLE LIKE US, WHICH MAKES US LESS HORRIBLE THAN IF WE POSTED ON FB. She should be applauding our restraint and discretion.

Or she could simply realize that not everyone on DCUM is middle class and up or from a middle class family of origin. My spouse and I grew up poor. We’ve been working class adults and are somewhat new to being middle class. We still live among “the common folk” and like it that way.
