Best paying “easy” careers?

I'm a former Fed with a STEM PhD. This is not a universal truth at all. In the private sector, I now make many times my Fed salary. But my Fed job was one of the hardest jobs I've ever done. I worked at a small and under-resourced agency, which was part of it. But the breadth of things I needed to excel at to just do what was expected was staggering. And no one would characterize my private sector jobs as "easy".
