I, too, am surprised that people still watch regular tv with commercials. I thought most just watched streaming without commercials. I don’t think my kids (now teens) have ever seen a commercial other than at grandparents years ago. |

That's what we used to do, too, with our YouTubeTV subscription. Record and then fast forward through commercials. Not anymore. Even with a subscription, now if you record anything on YouTubeTV there are embedded commercials which you cannot fast forward through. What's most infuriating is they've put commercials in channels that don't normally have commercials! Like TCM. I will record an old classic movie and now it has about 10-12 commercial breaks in it when I go back to watch it. If you watch it live on TCM, there are no commercials. |
Even shows on Prime now have commercials where they didn’t used to. Can’t avoid them except to pay even more to go ad-free. |
