Fairfax County Democrats call for Schultz resignation

Anonymous
Why are they calling on anyone to step down over things that aren't related to FCPS schools?

Tolerance towards bullying and sexual harassment, as displayed by Schultz, is very much an issue in the schools. Her jokes about buying ammo are also troubling given Sandy Hook, Columbine, etc. She normalizes hatred and using weapons to solve problems.

If it weren't for Schultz fighting for kids who are victims of an abusive discipline system that throws kids into the pipeline to prison, many more kids' lives would be ruined.

I've seen her fight for kids when none of the supposed liberals do nothing when they should have a heart for really disadvantaged kids or facing the crush of the mighty FCPS.
She may have personal political views but so what? Don't we all? But Reps aren't that known for taking the time to help kids one by one especially minority kids, but she does all the time
She is the only one I've seen not give up on an individual family or kid. That's what matters and whatever democrats are trying to do by this stupid call for resignation, it doesn't undo the truth that people have seen by her actions of going to where people need her instead of the rest who rule from their ivory tower. It just makes them look petty and stupid. And it kind of doesn't match up with what we're supposed to be teaching kids, so it's also a really bad example that their setting.

That's impossible to prove to disprove since such proceedings are non-public; however, I've seen her literally turn her back on students in public when they said things that didn't align with her views, and then make fun of them later on her Twitter account. If she's better in private, great, but she still sends out students a terrible message with her public behavior.

And, I have seen liberal SB members publicly mock the public who attended a SB meeting and simply asked for a chance to be heard. Specifically, Pat Hynes.

Schultz has made the case every year for more support services to mental health services for students every budget cycle, making the case for more social workers and psychologists.
That's not a radical position or particularly conservative. It would have made a lot of sense and may have prevented the amount of stress our students experience by giving them more access to help and balance students who focus on their studies but also are athletes or have to work on top of school.
The no-value-adds on the SB always voted no. Their arrogance has made our students pay. We're tired of burying our children in Fairfax.
The real radicals on the SB are the liberals who pretend to care about children but then play politics at the SB table.
Moon is known as the human weathervane because he'll do whatever is good for his law business doing immigration work.
Straus has everything locked up since she's been on the SB for like 30 years.
And Mr. Clinton Global Initiative Ryan is just brazen in his political speeches.
Glass houses.
Our students, especially at Woodson, South County and LBSS need people who care no matter what political winds are blowing. They are more fragile than the system is treating them with homework loads up to 4 hours a night. Schultz has taken a lot of time to talk with students in person to hear their viewpoint. Don't talk about things you don't know cuz she's done right by our children more than anyone else when no one is looking.

Sorry, but I'm not buying it. I've seen too many instances where Schultz turned a deaf ear to students and community members in public.

the specific answered by the general.
typical character assassination.
what someone who is politically motivated engages in.
and anonymous.
a tool of a party instead of someone who really cares about families and children.
keep up your tear downs. it only serves to show how political agenda driven these actions are and ensure that those who have seen her work for real know your motivations.

I find this entire line of attach by a political party very rude and revealing.
My child suffers from a number of disabilities and the only person on the School Board in Fairfax who even responded was Mrs. Schulz. She not only responded, she met with us, helped with communication with the Special Services staff and offered to connect us with advocates who could help us when we were very overwhelmed by the process and lack of help we were getting. We felt like a number in a system and no one was helping us even as the situation got worse.
Why any political party would get involved in such a ugly way is just disgusting and anyone involved should be ashamed of themselves for taking the focus off children.

When we contacted Schultz about an issue that affected children at our school, she never responded or even acknowledged our correspondence or point of view. Clearly, she is very selective in terms of who she considers worthy of her time and attention. We felt brushed aside and later, based on her public comments, ridiculed. I hope she steps down or that her district finds a better candidate in the future.

These are the interactions that Shultz and any other school board member should be judged. Their interactions with children, parents, administration, and other school board members. I see no reason for this democratic group to call for resignation because of someone she likes that they don't regard.

Others disagree, and I'm glad they are calling attention to her extreme right-wing views as well as her poor behavior. Springfield District deserves better.

Very sad that you vote along partisan lines no matter what a person has done during their actual job. No wonder there is such division in this country with no one giving the other side a fighting chance. Not saying this Shultz person has done right or wrong, but she doesn't deserve to be judged by who she supports for the presidential election. Neither does anyone else on the school board.
