Don't be. This is highly unusual.

Only because you dont know what is in the meat....or vegetables...or ground up in your processed food.

A frirnd of mine worked at a slaughterhouse where a colleague lost three fingers in an accident. They ended up mixed in with 500 pounds of meet. The inspectors decided it was within the tolerances and allowed it through, ground fingers and all.

Gag. This is why I just can't bring myself to eat ground meat unless we grind it ourselves.

I shop at the Whole Foods in Tysons and I can't tell you how many times I've taken fish back to that store!! I've written to the District Manager as well as the Corporate office. It's terrible. I now shop at a little fish store called Medaterra in Mosaic. No more Whole Foods fish!!!

Wild Salmon often have worms. If you swallow live tapeworms it will either pass through your digestive system without a problem or the tapeworm might attach to your stomach wall and then cause gastric symptoms in a few hours or a few weeks. Your kids probably need to get treated OP with a de wormer pill.

This is why I always buy frozen fish. Well, this and the price

If you're buying fresh fish, it may have worms no matter how careful or clean the store has been. Buy it frozen.

I found a worm in my monkfish last night (bought at Glover Park wholefoods) It was dead but I couldn't eat any more once I'd found it.

Y'all can't have it both ways. If you want fresh, wild, organic, minimally processed food it will have worms, insects, and a shorter shelf life.

If you want perfectly sanitized food free of this stuff, well, that's hard to do without the processing, antibiotics, bleaching, and additives that everyone gets all up in arms about.

Exactly. Fish that has been frozen is fresher since it gets frozen right away and all the worms and bacteria are killed. It is cheaper too.

But fish like wild salmon that have been frozen taste really gross compared to fresh. And farmed salmon is both bad for you and the environment.

Then deal with the occasional worm, princess, because wild fish sometimes have them.

Nice, this is my first time posting on this thread and I never said that I was boycotting fish because of worms. Take your misogynistic comment and suck it.

Worms are high in protein. Good idea OP to cook the worms first.

You could pair it with a nice dill sauce.

Fail. I am a female, you are just impractical. The previous poster is right, you can't have it both ways. Your comment was totally useless because then you added nothing but an apparent whine.

There is such a thing as a female misogynist. Are you even educated?
